Jeff S. Pierce, D.O.
Dr. Pierce completed his Doctor of Osteopathy from the University of Medicine and Dentistry, New Jersey School of Osteopathic Medicine, Piscataway, N.J. He subsequently completed his Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation residency at the University of Illinois, Chicago. He continued with sub-specialty training in Manual/Musculoskeletal and Sports Medicine which includes training in E.M.G./Electromyography, Manual Medicine and Spinal Injections and both in- and out-patient rehabilitation.
His focus for each patient is on comprehensive evaluation, proper diagnosis and individualized treatment regimens. Dr. Pierce provides an educational aspect to the patient regarding their injuries/conditions to encourage the patient to share responsibility in his/her situation. Dr. Pierce also teaches prevention techniques to prohibit further injury empowering patients to control their situation.
In addition to his practice, Dr. Pierce is the founder of Athletes Unlimited.com, a non-profit organization for the support and development of athletes with physical challenges. He devotes a great deal of time coaching and developing their athletic skills, and more importantly, their life skills. He works hard to educate the community on disabilities while trying to break down barriers between able- and disabled bodies. Dr. Pierce firmly believes that no active individual should be restricted by any boundary. NO LIMITS!
Tarek Hadla M.D.
Dr. Hadla is a member of the staff at Michigan Sports & Spine Center as a primary care sports medicine doctor. Dr. Hadla specializes in sports medicine managing Joint and Tendon injuries, Arthritis, General Orthopedics, Fracture Management, Joint & Trigger Point Injections, Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, Concussion Management, Rehabilitation and Return to Play, in addition to other Sports and Musculoskeletal Injuries. Dr. Hadla utilizes the new Musculoskeletal Ultrasound technology for diagnosing different muscular and joint pathologies in addition to performing various joints and soft tissue Injections besides Prolotherapy.
Following his medical education, Dr.Hadla began as a Family Physician at the Carle Foundation Hospital,IL where he served as a Chief Resident for the academic years of 2008 -2009. He completed a fellowship in Sports Medicine at MacNeal Hospital in Berwyn, Chicago. During his fellowship, he rotated at the University of Chicago, Rush University and the University of Illinois medical centers.
Dr.Hadla played a major role in the learning process of musculoskeletal pathologies to the residents that rotated through the sports medicine department at his facility and was described as compassionate and professional. He was highly recommended by all the residents and staff. Dr. Hadla speaks Arabic, English, French and Russian.

Tom Caruso D.O.
Dr. Caruso is a Physiatrist and member of Michigan Sports and Spine Center in the Fellowship Program. He specializes in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, E.M.G./Electromyography, Manual Medicine, Occupational Medicine and Sports Medicine. Dr. Caruso comes to Michigan Sports and Spine after working and receiving his education from some of the top east coast hospitals and schools. His rehabilitation experience and services includes TBI, stroke, amputees and medical debilitation to name a few. Outpatient rehabilitation services including largely nonopiod pain management for those with acute and chronic musculoskeletal disorders including the use of peripheral joint, trigger, point, soft tissue, botox and hylanuronan injections. He’s also provided Electro diagnosis and Osteopathic manipulative medicines.
Dr. Caruso attended LaSalle University where he earned his Bachelor’s of Art Degree. From there he attended Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine Philadelphia where he received his degree of Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine. He continued his education as a Resident of Physical medicine and Rehabilitation from The Graduate Hospital at University of Pennsylvania and a Family Medicine Residency from The Hospital of Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine.
Dr. Caruso spends his extra time volunteering for Habitat for Humanity, Friends of Silver Falls Board Member, and St. Edwards Episcopal Church Lay Assistant.

Christa is a valuable member of the front office and is responsible for managing the patient schedule, insurance verficiation, assisting with all billing procedures, and many other activities behind the scenes at MSSC. Christa has also volunteered for the Athletes Unlimited Annual Golf Outing and resides in Belleville with her husband and two sons.
