  • "Back Pain; No one should Suffer" Community Seminar
    August 16, 2011 - Michigan Sports & Spine Centers is holding a free Community Seminar to help educate and assist in finding a solution to resolve your pain. This free back pain seminar will review the many causes of lower back pain all of which should be evaluated and never over looked.

    Dr. Pierce will also discuss the various treatment options available for reducing and/or remedying back pain. He will take individual questions from the audience following the presentation.

  • "Sudden Cardiac Failure: The Silent Threats to Athletes" Community Seminar
    September 27, 2011 - Attention Athletes, Parents and Coaches, you're invited to a free event that could save a life.

    We will provide the audience with an overview of the many causes of sudden cardiac death in young athletes. We will also present various cautionary actions and strategies for participation in sports/recreational activities as well as the understanding cardiovascular screening.

    Rochester Community PTA Council, Michigan Sports & Spine Centers and CORE Sports Fitness Presented a FREE seminar; "Keep your Head in the Game", presented by Dr. Jeff S. Pierce, Medical Director of Michigan Sports & Spine Center and Dr. Tarek Hadla.

  • GRIND LINE Fundamental Hockey School
    The 2011 GRIND LINE Hockey School concluded and was a great success! Kris Draper, Kirk Maltby and Darren McCarty formerly of the Detroit Red Wings and the Professional Staff from CORE Sports Fitness along with their special guest delivered a camp to be remembered!

    This accelerated Hockey school was for the serious skater of all levels who is looking to develop in to a successful athlete. There were 140 skaters; ages 6 to 13 training each day in the CORE fitness center and on the ice with former Red Wings, the team from PowerTech Hockey Group, Brian Smolinski a 16 year veteran in the NHL and a couple of HoneyBaked Major players to assist.

    After their long workout, the Grind Line skaters were greeted by Detroit Red Wings who stopped in to offer some encouraging words and sign some autographs. Dan Cleary, Nicklas Lidstrom, Patrick Eaves, Tomas Holmstrom and Jakub Kindle all stopped in throughout the 4 day camp.

    The Detroit Diehards are proud to be hosting our 3RD ANNUAL RIM-AU
    Invitational Wheelchair Basketball Tournament

    When: JANUARY 14-15, 2012
    Where: Beechwood Recreational Center, Southfield, MI
    The tournament will host Division 3 teams, as well as a Non-Qualifying Regional Tournament for Junior Division teams.
